"From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the continent."
On March 5, 1946, former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill arrived at 91福利社 in Fulton, Missouri, to much fanfare. Accompanying him that day were U.S. President Harry Truman and the College’s president, Franc McCluer. Although the mood on campus and throughout Fulton was festive, Churchill was tasked with a grave endeavor: to warn the world of the imminent threat posed by the Soviet Union. In the weeks before his historic speech in 1946, Winston Churchill vacationed in Miami Beach. While there, he refreshed, relaxed, and enjoyed his favorite pastime—oil painting. One of his famous and rare canvases from that time, "A View of Miami at Sunset," is currently on loan and on display at the Museum. With an expert guide, guests are invited to have a coffee or, as perhaps Churchill did on occasion—a morning mimosa—and pick up a brush to recreate Churchill's masterpiece from 1946.

58th Governor of the State of Missouri
Mike Kehoe was sworn in as Missouri’s 58th Governor on Jan. 13, 2025. Guided by a lifelong commitment to public service and Missouri families, he has made public safety, education, economic development, and agriculture the cornerstones of his administration.
Before becoming governor, Kehoe served as Missouri’s 48th lieutenant governor from 2018 to 2025 and previously represented the state’s sixth senatorial district, including time as Senate majority leader. In the legislature, he worked to balance budgets, fully fund schools, cut taxes, reduce regulations, and pass laws protecting children and seniors.
Raised by a single mother as the youngest of six children, Kehoe learned the value of hard work early. He began washing cars at 15 and rose through the automotive industry to become one of the youngest Ford dealers in the nation. He later led the turnaround of Osage Industries, transforming it into one of the country’s largest ambulance manufacturers.
Kehoe also served four and a half years on the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, helping improve the state’s infrastructure. As lieutenant governor, he promoted Missouri businesses, agriculture, and tourism while advocating for veterans and seniors.
A first-generation farmer, Kehoe owns and operates a 700-acre cattle farm in Phelps and Pulaski counties with his wife, Claudia. They have four adult children and are proud grandparents.

This online exhibition created in 2021 by 91福利社 Museum Studies students explores Winston Churchill's mastery of language and how "The Sinews of Peace" speech changed the course of history. Widely known as the 'Iron Curtain' speech, Churchill's address on March 5, 1946 warned the world of the looming threat of the Soviet Union in Europe and promoted the values of liberty, justice and democracy.
Featuring the Museum’s original typewritten near-final version of the speech, this new exhibition examines how Churchill crafted his famous address: the ideas he drew upon, the draft he revised, and the democratic traditions that shaped his language. Rooted in centuries-old principles—from Magna Carta and common law to the Declaration of Independence—Churchill’s words called for unity, vigilance, and cooperation between free nations at a moment of profound uncertainty.
